In order to best meet my students needs, students have been divided into two groups.

LEARNING SUPPORT ENGLISH (H)

  

  Comprehension, fluency vocabulary, and various ways to organize information are the targeted areas implemented in this English class.

  Other components of the English language are incorporated throughout the year.

  Bridges Reading Program is our main literature book as well as two teacher selected novels.

  Another program that is incorporated into this class is QAR, this program focuses on comprehension through teaching students different types of questions and where to find relevant information in nonfiction and fictional text.

  We will also be doing extensive writing; involving every step in the writing process. 

   I look forward to a fun filled academic year!

  • 3-ring binder
  • Pens and pencils
  • Insertable dividers for binders

LEARNING SUPPORT ENGLISH (L)

 

This class will use the Bridges Reading Program it focuses on comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, and decoding skills.  Various learning centers are incorporated into instruction to meet the different learning styles of the students. 

  Both English classes follow similiar objectives but this class has a greater emphasis on encoding and decoding skills.
