WELCOME!
We are beginning our study of cells and microscope work!
At the end of this unit in our textbook Cells and Heredity, students should be able to explain the following
BIG IDEAS:
1. All living things are made up of cells.
2. All cells need energy and materials for life processes.
3. Organisms grow, reproduce, and maintain themselves through cell division.
4. In sexual reproduction, genes are passed from parents to offspring in predictable patterns.
5. DNA is a set of instructions for making cell parts.
The previous big ideas support the following Unifying Principles in life science:
1. All living things share common characteristics.
2. All living things share common needs.
